<Warning>
  Seat reductions take effect immediately and **you won't receive a credit** for the current billing period. More importantly, if your active user count exceeds your new seat limit after the reduction, Connekt may automatically deactivate users to bring you within the limit. To control exactly who loses access, deactivate or reassign specific users **before** reducing your seat count.
</Warning>

## Deactivating a User

Deactivating a user frees up their seat immediately, so you can reassign it to someone else without increasing your plan cost.

1. Go to **Settings → Manage Users**.
2. Find the user you want to deactivate.
3. Select **Deactivate**.

The user loses access right away, and their seat becomes available for a new invite.
