# Understanding All Six Document Statuses in Connekt

> Learn what each of Connekt's six document statuses means and which actions — editing, resending, downloading, or duplicating — are available.

Every document you create in Connekt has a status that tells you exactly where it sits in the signing process. The status updates automatically as signers complete their part, so you always have a clear, at-a-glance picture of what needs attention and what's done. Understanding the six statuses helps you respond quickly — whether that's chasing a pending signer or downloading a completed certificate.

## Status reference

| Status                | What it means                                                                                                  |
| --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Draft** | The document has been uploaded but fields have not yet been configured, or it hasn't been sent to signers yet. |
| **Pending Signature** | The document has been sent and is awaiting action from the first (or only) signer in the sequence. |
| **Partially Signed** | At least one signer has completed their part, but one or more signers are still pending. |
| **Completed** | All signers have signed. The final PDF and signing certificate are ready to download. |
| **Cancelled** | A team member manually cancelled the signing request. Signers can no longer use their links. |
| **Expired** | The signing request timed out before all signatures were collected. |

## Actions available by status

Different actions are available depending on a document's current status.

<Accordion title="Draft">
  A document in Draft is fully editable. You can:

  * Open the field editor to add, move, or remove fields.
  * Add or remove signers and adjust the signing order.
  * Send the document when you're ready by clicking **Finalize & Send**.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Pending Signature / Partially Signed">
  The document is live and in progress. You can:

  * View which signers have completed their part and which are still pending.
  * Click **Resend** next to any pending signer's name to re-send their unique signing link — useful if the original email was missed or has expired.

  <Note>
    You cannot edit fields or signers once a document has been sent. If changes are needed, cancel the document and duplicate it to start a fresh request.
  </Note>
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Completed">
  All signers have signed. You can:

  * Download the **final signed PDF** — a copy of the document with all signatures applied.
  * Download the **certificate of completion** — an audit trail showing each signer's name, email, and signing timestamp.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Cancelled / Expired">
  The signing process did not complete. You can:

  * **Duplicate** the document to create a fresh copy with the same PDF and field configuration, then restart the signing process.

  <Warning>
    Cancelled and expired documents cannot be reactivated. Duplicating is the only way to restart a signing request on the same document.
  </Warning>
</Accordion>

<Tip>
  Keep an eye on documents in **Pending Signature** or **Partially Signed** status on a regular basis. Using the **Resend** button to nudge pending signers is the quickest way to keep deals and placements moving.
