# Capturing LinkedIn Profiles with the Chrome Extension

> Use the Connekt Chrome extension to capture candidates, companies, and contacts from LinkedIn directly into your workspace as you browse.

The Connekt Chrome extension lets you add and enrich records in your workspace without leaving LinkedIn. As you browse profiles and company pages, a side panel appears so you can capture data with a single click — complete with automatic duplicate detection to keep your database clean. It works for candidates, companies, and contacts all in one place.

  The extension is currently distributed as an **unpacked installation** rather than through the Chrome Web Store. Ask your workspace admin for the install package and setup instructions.

## What the extension captures

## How to capture a record

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install and sign in">
    Install the extension using the package from your admin, then sign in with your Connekt credentials — the same email and password you use on the web app, including MFA if you have it enabled.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Browse to a LinkedIn profile or company page">
    Navigate to any LinkedIn candidate profile, company page, or team member listing you want to capture.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the extension panel">
    A floating indicator appears on the page. Click it to open the Connekt side panel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the pre-filled details">
    The panel automatically detects whether you're viewing a candidate, contact, or company and pre-fills a form with data scraped from the page. Review the details and make any corrections.

  <Step title="Check for duplicates">
    Connekt checks your existing records for likely matches and flags any duplicates before you save — helping you avoid creating the same person or company twice.

  <Step title="Save the record">
    Click **Save** to create a new record or update an existing one in your Connekt workspace.

## Other things the extension can do

Beyond capturing LinkedIn data, the extension's side panel gives you quick access to several other actions:

  Upload a resume file directly from the side panel and Connekt will automatically parse the candidate's information using AI, populating the candidate record for you.

<Accordion title="Attach a Notetaker meeting summary">
  If you've recently run a Connekt Notetaker meeting with or about this person, you can attach the meeting summary to the record directly from the extension.

<Accordion title="Search your Connekt workspace">
  Use the **Status** tab in the extension to search across your Candidates, Contacts, and Companies without navigating away from LinkedIn. Useful for quickly checking if someone is already in your database.

  Always let the duplicate detection run before saving. If Connekt flags a match, review it — you may want to update the existing record rather than creating a second one.
