Connekt’s matching engine goes beyond simple keyword filters. It uses semantic, meaning-based analysis combined with an AI re-ranking step to surface the strongest pairings between candidates and open roles — even when the wording doesn’t match exactly. For example, a candidate who lists “React.js” can still be matched to a job that asks for “ReactJS.” You can trigger matching from either direction: starting from a candidate to find relevant jobs, or starting from a job to find suitable candidates.

What Drives the Matching

Rather than looking for exact word matches, Connekt understands the meaning behind the text in candidate profiles and job descriptions. Skills, experience, and role requirements are compared conceptually, so related terms and synonyms are treated as equivalent matches.
After the initial semantic search identifies candidates or jobs, an AI re-ranking step refines the order — pushing the strongest overall fits to the top of the list based on the full context of both the candidate profile and the job record.
The matching engine works from whatever information is in each record. A candidate with a detailed profile — skills, experience, education, a full CV — will generate far more accurate matches than one with only a name and email address. The same applies to jobs: a well-written description with clear requirements produces better results than a one-line title.
To get the most from AI matching, make sure both your candidate profiles and your job records are as complete as possible. Encourage your team to attach resumes and fill in skills fields when adding new candidates.
Matching searches run against open jobs only. Closed, filled, or cancelled roles won’t appear in candidate match results.
