How Auto-Calculation Works
When you create a placement, Connekt looks at three things to determine the default split:- Who owns the candidate record — the recruiter responsible for sourcing or managing the candidate
- Who owns the company account — the recruiter or account manager responsible for the client relationship
- The deal maker role — any deal maker role assigned during the recruitment process
How to Override Splits Manually
1
Open the Placement record
Navigate to the placement whose splits you want to change.
2
Go to the Splits section
Scroll to the Splits section on the placement record, or open the Commission Drawer from the pipeline card for the same placement.
3
Click Edit Splits
Click Edit Splits to enter edit mode.
4
Enter custom percentages
Update the percentage for each recruiter as needed. You can add or remove split lines to reflect the actual contributions.
5
Save
Click Save to apply your changes.
Split Categories
Each individual split line can be tagged with a category to describe the type of contribution. This helps with reporting and makes commission breakdowns easier to understand.Regular
The recruiter directly worked the deal — sourced the candidate, managed the client, or drove the process to close.
Referral
The recruiter passed a lead but didn’t actively work the deal themselves.
Researcher
The recruiter sourced or screened the candidate but wasn’t involved in the client-facing side of the deal.
Additional Commission Rules
First-placement handling
First-placement handling
A client’s first-ever placement can be treated differently from repeat placements at the same account, depending on how your workspace is configured. If you’re not sure whether this applies to you, ask your admin.
System companies
System companies
Companies flagged as system accounts in Connekt may have different split rules applied automatically. If you notice unexpected splits on a placement linked to a system company, contact your admin to review the account’s configuration.
Where to View Splits
All splits and their calculated fee values are visible in two places:- The Commission Drawer — accessible by clicking any deal card on the pipeline board
- The Placement record itself — in the Splits section
