If you’re going to be away — on annual leave, travelling, or otherwise unavailable — you can record a delegate in Connekt to cover your leave approval responsibilities during that period. Delegation is primarily a way to document who’s covering for you and for what reason; it doesn’t restrict other Managers or Operations users from approving requests independently.
Setting up a delegation requires admin access in Connekt.

Setting up a delegate

1

Open Delegation settings

Go to Settings → Leave Policies → Delegation.
2

Choose your delegate

Select the team member who will act as approver in your absence. They must already have Manager or Operations access in your workspace.
3

Set the delegation period

Enter a start date and end date for the delegation. This records exactly when the cover arrangement applies.
4

Add a reason

Enter a reason for the delegation — for example, Annual leave or Business travel. This is logged with the delegation record for future reference.
5

Save

Click Save. The delegation is recorded and visible in the delegation history.
Delegation doesn’t grant the delegate any additional access they don’t already have — it’s a record of who’s covering, not a permission change. Any Manager or Operations user in your workspace can approve leave requests regardless of whether a delegation is in place.

Removing a delegate early

If your plans change and you’re back before the delegation end date, you can remove the delegation at any time.
  1. Go to Settings → Leave Policies → Delegation.
  2. Click Remove Delegate.
The delegation is ended immediately and the record is updated in the delegation history.

Delegation history

All past and current delegations are logged and visible in Settings → Leave Policies → Delegation. You can review who covered for whom, over what period, and for what reason — useful for compliance records or simply for reference when planning future cover.

Important notes

Delegates cannot further delegate their cover to another person. If your named delegate also becomes unavailable during the period, another Manager or Operations user in the workspace will still be able to action leave requests — but you’ll need to manually update the delegation record if you want to formally reassign cover.
