Once a candidate reaches Offer Accepted or Hired status, you can convert the submission into a formal Placement record. The placement is where you track fees, commission splits, and invoicing — converting from the submission is the fastest way to create one because the key details are carried over automatically.

Eligibility

You can only convert a submission that has a status of Offer Accepted or Hired. If the submission is at any other stage, the Create Placement button won’t be available. Update the status first, then return here to convert.

Steps to Convert

1

Open the submission record

Navigate to the submission you want to convert to a placement.
2

Confirm the status

Check that the current status is Offer Accepted or Hired. If it isn’t, update it before continuing.
3

Click Create Placement

Click the Create Placement button on the submission record.
4

Review the pre-filled fields

Connekt automatically carries over the Candidate, Job, and Company from the submission — review these to make sure they’re correct.
5

Fill in the required fields

Complete the following before saving:
  • Start date — the date the candidate begins in the role
  • Recruiter splits — assign a percentage share to each recruiter who contributed to the deal
6

Complete the optional fields

The following are optional but recommended for accurate reporting:
  • Fee / commission details — the placement fee amount and currency
  • Invoice date — when to bill the client (this can differ from the start date)
  • Documents — attach the offer letter, signed contract, or other relevant files
7

Create the placement

Click Create to finalise the conversion.

What Happens After Conversion

🎉 Connekt fires a confetti animation when a placement is successfully created — a small celebration for a big win.
After you click Create, the following happens automatically:
  • A new Placement record is created and linked to the original submission.
  • The submission is marked as converted so your team knows it’s been actioned.
  • The placement appears in the Placements list and on the pipeline board, ready for fee tracking and invoicing.
If you need to adjust splits or fee details after conversion, open the Placement record directly at any time. See Deal Splits for guidance on editing commission splits.
