Connecting LinkedIn Messages brings your LinkedIn conversations into Connekt alongside emails and notes, so you have a complete communication history on every candidate profile without manually copying messages across. This is separate from the Connekt Chrome extension, which captures LinkedIn profile data, company pages, and contact information into new or existing records — if that’s what you need, see Capturing LinkedIn Profiles with the Connekt Chrome Extension.
LinkedIn does not provide an official API for message access. Connekt uses cookie-based authentication to sync messages, which means the connection process is slightly different from a standard OAuth flow.

Connecting your LinkedIn account

1

Open Communication Settings

Go to Settings → Communication.
2

Start the LinkedIn connection

Under the LinkedIn section, click Connect.
3

Paste your session cookies

Follow the on-screen prompts to retrieve and paste your LinkedIn session cookies into Connekt.
4

Confirm the connection

Once the cookies are accepted, the status updates to Active and sync begins.

How message sync works

  • LinkedIn messages are matched to candidate profiles by name and profile URL where available.
  • Synced messages appear on the candidate’s activity timeline, alongside emails and notes.

Handling LinkedIn security checkpoints

LinkedIn occasionally triggers a security checkpoint — such as a CAPTCHA or identity verification — during sync. When this happens:
  1. A Solve Checkpoint button appears in the LinkedIn section of Settings → Communication.
  2. Click Solve Checkpoint and complete the LinkedIn security prompt.
  3. Sync resumes automatically once the checkpoint is resolved.
If you see a checkpoint and don’t resolve it, LinkedIn message sync will pause until it’s completed. Check your Communication settings if messages stop appearing on profiles.

Manually triggering a sync

  1. Go to Settings → Communication → LinkedIn.
  2. Click Sync to pull the latest messages on demand.

Disconnecting LinkedIn

  1. Go to Settings → Communication → LinkedIn.
  2. Click Disconnect.
LinkedIn sessions expire periodically. If sync stops working unexpectedly, reconnect by repeating the steps above — this is a LinkedIn platform limitation, not a Connekt issue.
